Birthday Girl

And yet nearly another month escapes me, time slipping through in moments, appreciated, but undocumented. A little of life busyness, wrapping up my third quarter with my students and handing over the classroom to my leave substitute, a little of juggling work travel for dear hubby and welcoming him home, a little of third trimester fatigue, surprisingly not as wearing as I remember with Ellie, a little of just waiting and wondering what the future holds.

Speaking of future and past, it doesn't seem so long ago that I was here...baby showers for my first...I helped my mom throw one last weekend for childhood friends...

When even spooning textured baby food to a little one seemed lifetimes away.

And now we're here, a most content little one when she has spoonfuls of hummus to shovel oh so delicately into her drooly little mouth...

Or arranging accessories while the festivities buzz all around...

And waiting for this moment again, a snuggled bundle draped against my chest....

And then to the pet store for a family trip to pick up a cleaner Pippy.

No those are not hickeys on my sweet baby's cheeks, but just a taste of a rough week ahead battling a double ear infection and chest virus...it's been a long five days...

But this day she was happy.

And then, it was time for this, a belated birthday morning for our precious two-year old.

Could this really have been two years ago?

And, yes, we wrapped her big gift in a black yard trash bag. Beautiful.

She didn't mind.

Happy birthday little one.
And now we wait for our new little one in our lives. I am cherishing these moments, days with my oldest girl. Made a point to paint our toes matching pink last weekend, but I'm so excited for her to be a big sister. And ready to meet my little boy.

Recent Happenings

A snippet post of recent happenings since our life has been a little too chaotic to properly document our every day moments...

A down home cookin' dinner party...

Complete with a baby announcement from dear friends...

And a sad viewing of a Cats game.

But nothing gets a daddy/daughter moment down.

But this cutest has smiles no matter what.

Especially when meeting dear cousin Addie for the first time.

And then the Kansas "Snowmaggedon"

And then a first overnight at Aunt Andrea and Uncle Jonah's so we had a date night.

And then a first birthday party for sweet Reegan Heine.

Photobucket

There were lots of babies to play with...

But Ellie liked Reegan's dolls best.

Other than reading with daddy of course. Yes, even at a birthday party little Miss Ellie was ready to read with daddy.

It's been a little crazy busy around here, but we're grateful for each moment.
