Breakin' out the boots...

It was a little chilly this weekend...



Maybe not QUITE chilly enough for the jacket, but it was just SO cute!


But we did jump at first chance we could to break out the cozy fall clothes...and by we, I mean it was all Ellie's idea.



Especially these.



So that's just what we did...
Dear cousin Cecily French is due to have Baby Number One in just a few short weeks. So this was the weekend to shower her with goodies and see a few other family members we hardly ever get to see!



The best part is Aubree and Ellie are only a few little months apart so I look forward to lots of great holiday fun in store for them in years to come....plus this little one.



And this little shopper-to-be was much more interested in purse modeling than picture posing.



But we sure tried...


To no avail.
But we tried.
And these little girls sure looked cute together.
In fact, I was a little too pre-occupied with pretending to be the photographer of the afternoon that I forgot to take a pic of the main lady!



But all in all? Wonderful.

My Hubby is Home!

It's been a long week. My handsome hubby has been in Florida for the week bringing in the bacon. Ellie and I have been anxiously awaiting his return...
And this morning, we tried to remind him how good home is...

And I've been kind of craving this...


So then we waited outside for him...both in pajamas way too late in the morning...


Distance makes the heart grow fonder...


Love.

TV Mom

So I really don't want to be a TV mom. You have to understand, I grew up thinking it was a treat to watch Bob Ross the painter on PBS on Sundays. If you don't know who he is, please find out. Magee and Me soon became my next cool kid thing but somewhere in between Bob Ross and Magee and Me was probably the 1977 adaptation of Jesus of Nazareth on VHS. Loved this movie.

Anyway, this all being said, I've tried for the last 18 months to not introduce Ellie to the TV. That combined with the fact that her little buns don't stay in one place for very long any more has made this a zero challenge.

But this morning, with my hubs in Tampa, Florida on a very important business trip and me worn out from my week of corralling twenty-five ten year-olds while attempting to edu-ma-cate them...well, we tried a little Baby Einstein.

Insert this dvd.


Voila.


LOVE the cozy covers and lounging on pillow mountain.


In all honesty, it still didn't last long. Probably fifteen minutes. Tops. But this little grin was worth it.

Falling into Autumn...

It's just about here. Seriously, I love the change of seasons. So Labor Day weekend consisted of enjoying just that...

Saturday morning our little family plus Ellie's Nana and Papa took a little jaunt uptown to the Farmer's Market.


Ellie made sure to grab all that's near and dear in her life...her silkie...her new brown-haired dolly...and her Bible.


And a hug from daddy. Absolutely love this.


So off we went to try out our dear friend's bakery.
